Why are we here?

For the longest time I considered travel blogs to be reserved strictly for the creatives; the writers, photographers, and filmmakers who work tirelessly at their craft in order to curate the most beautiful experience for their audience. It’s because of this that I’ve always shied away from the idea of making one of my own because I don’t consider myself well-versed in any of those things.

The more I thought about it the more I began to realize that I don’t need to be as good as the others in those specific skillsets if only I were able to find my own special niche. I played with a few ideas for a while until I noticed a scarcity of content in two crucial elements of any expedition: price and planning. We often see our favorite travel bloggers or influencers go to some amazing places and share their experience through pictures, videos, and written word but we rarely see them dive into the cruder, yet unavoidable, side of travel.

I will break down each trip into these key financial categories: flights, hotels, taxis, food, activities, miscellaneous (gifts/adventures) and how much cash I spent. In addition to diving into the planning process, how I decided what I wanted to do, how I handled it logistically, and what I could have done differently.

My goal is to inspire more exploration by providing honest information.

I’m excited to be able to share my trips in more depth through this site than simply through social media. To be honest, this is just as much for me as it is for everyone else. I hope my journeys will encourage you and give you a better understanding how to get out there and have some fun of your own. But also, selfishly, I’ll be able to refer back here to track my progress as a creative and hopefully see myself continue to grow as a human.
